OPM Federal Investigative Services - National Training Center

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) works with the President, Congress, departments and agencies, and other stakeholders to implement human capital policies that assist Federal agencies in meeting their strategic goals. This is accomplished by recruiting citizens to the Federal service, by serving as the main portal for employment information and by connecting job applicants with Federal agencies and departments.

The Office of Personnel Management Federal Investigative Services (FIS) is headquartered in Boyers, PA. FIS provides investigative products and services for over 100 Federal agencies to use as the basis for suitability and security clearance determinations as required by Executive Orders and other rules and regulations. FIS currently provides over 90% of the Government's investigations, conducting over two million investigations annually. In addition to regional offices world-wide, FIS also has operations in Washington, DC; FT. Meade, MD; Boyers, PA and Slippery Rock, PA.

The National Training Center (NTC) located in Slippery Rock, PA first opened its doors in November of 2009. Since then it has served as the hub for FIS' training operations. OPM-FIS established the NTC as a center of excellence for an experienced staff to develop and present specialized training for personnel throughout the government who conduct background investigations and suitability adjudications.
