National Emergency Training Center (NFA)

The National Fire Academy (NFA) is one of two schools at the National Emergency Training Center (NETC), a training facility that offers training opportunities in all-hazards leadership, command, prevention, and emergency response. The NFA is co-located at NETC with the Emergency Management Institute (EMI). Situated on a 107-acre campus in Emmitsburg, MD, the two institutions maintain nineteen fully-equipped classrooms and can accommodate up to 1,000 students with housing for more than 540.

The National Fire Academy, in partnership with state and metropolitan fire service organizations, offers on and off-campus courses, including web delivery through NFA Online.

Both institutions develop and deliver training sponsored by the program offices in the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
