U.S. Army Defense Ammunition Center, Training Directorate
The US Army Defense Ammunition Center (DAC) is part of the US Army Joint Munitions Command (JMC), which is the largest subordinate command under the US Army Materiel Command (AMC). DAC's mission is to provide the military services timely ammunition training, demilitarization technology, explosives safety, engineering, career management, and technical assistance through logistics support. DAC personnel are the subject matter experts from the development of ammunition to demilitarization.
The DAC Training Directorate provides ammunition, logistics, explosives safety, packaging, and HAZMAT certification training for military and civilian personnel, contractors, and international students as well as knowledge management services to Warfighters and business process owners across DOD. Training includes basic and advanced technical, functional, and management training used to develop competencies for personnel filling both staff and line positions supporting the DOD. The Directorate offers training throughout the world via the classroom and distance learning and serves Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps personnel.
In addition, the Training Directorate manages two DOD ammunition intern programs, the Quality Assurance Specialist (Ammunition Surveillance) (QASAS) and the Ammunition Management (AM) Career Programs.
