Overview
The enactment of the new, more generous GI Bill swept away a major barrier to higher education for returning veterans. But access to and success in higher education requires more than an investment in affordability. How can our country ensure that returning service men and women have every opportunity to use the education benefits earned through their service?
When
Participants can join from any computer with Internet access. The event will be live and available anytime over the span of three days. Participants can join the conversation as often as they choose, for as long as they choose during the three day event.

Launch: Monday, May 3, 2010 @12 PM ET
Close: Thursday, May 6, 2010 @12 PM ET
What will be discussed?
The Veteran Success Jam will address critical issues facing today's veterans such as:
  • What makes an academic institution truly veteran friendly
  • Awarding academic credit for military training and occupations
  • The new GI Bill and other education benefits
  • How to support veterans and service members navigating their way to college
  • How colleges, universities, and employers can support veterans transitioning to their next career
  • Physical and psychological health challenges and how to better understand and support veterans facing these challenges
  • Challenges and success stories of friends and families supporting and encouraging veterans
Why participate?
Your participation is essential! Your experiences, ideas, insights, and wisdom will help shape new and innovative solutions to improve access to and success in higher education for veterans.
