Center for Development of Security Excellence

The Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) was established in March 2010 and serves as the premier provider of security education and training for the Department of Defense (DoD) and industry. Education and training is delivered to customers across the US and internationally through a variety of methods to include instructor-led courses, eLearning courses, virtual environment delivery, performance support tools, and webinars. CDSE is responsible for administering the DoD Security Professional Education Development (SPED) Program and the DoD Personnel Security Adjudicator Certification Program. These two specialized certification programs are designed to ensure that today's security professional is able to meet 21st century threat challenges. While CDSE will continue the mission and functions of the Defense Security Service (DSS) security education training and awareness mission, CDSE will also add: professional development services for DoD security professionals, postsecondary opportunities aimed to develop leaders within the DoD security community, and career development counseling and support for DoD security professionals.
